Occidental Labs is a Native American-owned technology firm in Renton, Washington. We work on the operational systems an organization actually runs on — the ones that administer its grants, bill its clients, or bring on its people — and on the processes wrapped around them.

The pattern is usually the same. Understand the system that exists, including the parts nobody has read in years. Get clear on the process it is meant to serve. Then build what enables the new one, or recommend something off the shelf when that is the better answer.

We bring over a decade of experience from startups, mid-sized companies, enterprise environments, nonprofits, and public sector organizations — building and operating large-scale systems, stabilizing live ones, and shipping reliable production software.

AI is how a lot of that analysis gets done now. Reading a decade of contracts to find the terms that actually bind. Mapping a legacy codebase nobody fully understands anymore. Making sense of how an organization is really structured, as opposed to how the org chart says it is.

We work as an embedded partner rather than an outside vendor, on contract or retainer, across cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, AI integration, and production operations. Occidental Labs is structured to support tribal and government opportunities, including Native-owned set-aside contracts, while remaining industry-agnostic.

We also build our own products as experiments — launched, tested with real users, and shelved when the evidence says so. What we learn from them goes into client work.
